Student Life provides students with the opportunity to expand their education experience here at LSC. By getting involved, students enjoy the educational, cultural, and social experiences that college life has to offer. Students that are involved experience so much more and is a proven key to success. While being involved in campus activities is time consuming, it also provides students with the support and opportunity to learn new skills necessary to be successful. Activities sponsored by student life are student driven. These activities are planned and implemented by students. By being involved in establishing activities on campus, students gain the experience of planning, coordination of agencies, team work, and leadership. The activity also provides all students with a chance to socialize. Leadership workshops are also sponsored by Student Life. These workshops are mainly designed for student leaders with training and advice that will assist them in their leadership challenges. During a court hearing a judge stated that a college setting allows the teaching, advocacy, and distribution of an infinite range of ideas, theories, and beliefs. Some are traditional, and some may be controversial. Others are radical or even conformist. The world of higher education is the domain in which established, rejected, or even repulsive beliefs, opinions and ideas challenge each other. These challenges have the ability to alter someone's point of view on various matters. Obtaining a degree or diploma is only a part of what a student receives attending college. By getting involved in any of the avenues that Student Life provides, students can get the most of their college education, and be a part of the LSC community.
