Organization Responsibilities

Reports – Organizations are required to submit two reports during the academic year.  Reports are due at the end of each semester.  Organizations may submit their own report or use the report format provided by Student Life.  The format is located on the web.

Activities

Organizations are required to contact the Director of Student Life if your organization is planning on conducting any on or off campus activity.  This is to insure that all policies and state statutes are adhered to, and any special assistance that the Student Life Center may provide. 

Fund-Raising Events

Organizations planning on conducting a fund-raising event must contact the Director of Student Life prior to any planning of the event.  All fund-raising events must be approved through Student Life.  Organizations conducting fund-raising events without authorization from Student Life, the organization will loose their charter and be denied access to all funds.

Community Service Projects

Organizations planning on conducting a community service project must contact the Director of Student Life prior to any planning of the event.  This is to insure that organizations will receive credit for the project.

Student Organizations Charters

In order to remain in good standing, all LSC chartered student organizations must adhere to the following:

  • Maintain a minimum of six active members.
  • Submit a copy of the organization’s minutes to Student Life no later than one week after the close of each meeting.
  • Submit a membership roster to student Life no later than September 30 for Fall Semester, and February 20th for Spring Semester.
  • All chartered organizations must adhere to the procedures outlined in the Student Organization Handbook, which can be found at the student life web-site. 
  • The Student Senate shall review all allegations of failure to follow all guidelines established.  Organizations may be placed on probation, suspension, or the charter may be terminated.  The Student Senate’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Vice President of Student Services and the college President for approval of the action.
